After my disaster run two days ago and reading your comments and advice, I spent the last two days stretching as often as possible - even at work! I found an article saying that walking in high heels all day impacts evening runs, so I wore my lowest heels and did my best the take them off and stretch
The result? Today I finished the run my calves still hurt, but nothing like last time
Bring on Week 3!
Thank you everyone for your kind words and support they really made a difference!

Wahey! Well done. Glad it worked out OK in the end. Good luck for W3. 👍
Glad you got there ok. We knew you would (btw; bin the heels!)
Awww well done. At least you figured out what can help you now. Best wishes with your future runs.
Brilliant! So glad it worked out for you. 😀 Stretching is fab.
(Heels are an instrument of torture as far as I am concerned!)
Happy running! 🏃♀️👏🏃♀️👏
So glad it worked and now you know the problem and how to prevent it you hopefully won't have such a bad run again.
Bin the heels. Lots of smart women's flats available nowadays.
As a little person I love my heels, I knew it had got out of hand when I followed a Rignold squat plan to improve my fitness and I could do the squats in heels but not flats...
