Hello! I did couch to 5k a few years ago and found it absolutely brilliant and couldn't believe how good I felt. Then I got overexcited and tried to do too much, got injured a few times and eventually gave up. I've been feeling very unfit lately, so thought I'd give it another go. I've just done week 1 run 1 - thankfully I found I could still put one foot in front of the other without falling flat on my face, although it feels pretty daunting starting again. I'm also having a bit of trouble with the technology. Last time I used the app with Laura but I can't seem to find that now. Does it still exist? I downloaded the podcasts but they seem to be playing at double speed - she sounds like a chipmunk. Ended up using the BBC's version but it's not the same. Any ideas, or recommendations of a good alternative for iPhone if I can't get the original one to work properly?

Trying again after a long gap
I think it's podcasts with Laura or app with others. I am a Laura fan myself so I preferred the podcasts. Can't help you with the chipmunk issue except to suggest deleting and downloading again which you have no doubt already tried. Hope you find something that works and well done for deciding to start again. It is a fantastic programme.
It is! I wish I had stuck with it steadily last time and not got back to square one (but worse), but hopefully I can do it again. The good news is I've sorted the speed issue with the podcast so I'll have Laura from now on. It was set to double speed and turned out to be a simple fix Thanks for replying
I absolutely loved Laura in the podcasts. SCB1's advice sounds good. You maybe need to check your settings on your phone to make sure they aren't speeding it up.
Have you tried downloading the podcasts rather than using them online? Click on the ... icon then click download. Then wait until it's downloaded before playing. (I'm probably stating the obvious).
I’ve seen a few folk talk about Laura but I don’t have her on my app either. I’ve got Jo Whiley, Sarah Millican, Sanjeev Kohli and Michael Johnson. Any ideas?
Yes, that's the BBC one I used today. I've got the NHS C25K podcasts downloaded ready for the next run now - that's where Laura is!
Could you possibly post a pic of what the app looks like please?
I don't know how to do that I'm afraid, but it sounds like the same app you have, with jo whiley et al.
Thanks. Not sure why I don’t have Laura then. Hmm, very odd. X
She's on the podcasts!
Podcasts are the downloadable audio files (mp3s) - from here nhs.uk/LiveWell/c25k/Pages/... - they have the same content, similar script to the app but the narrator is the lovely Laura, they have music included in the recording which not everyone describes as lovely
If you ever look into the NHS strength and flex programme which some people do on rest days, you'll find her there too.
Yes, Laura on the podcasts only I think. I must say I am on my second time round and I love the new app as I can use my own music. Much as I loved Laura her music was terrible!
