So I normally do Zumba Monday Wednesday and Friday and between those days I’d do this program and just finished week 3.

Just wondering if I push my body too much? As I should have a rest day between the run so if I dance that would still be ok right?

Ok last week I did felt that my legs are in pain after the exercise.

I would take my dogs for a good walk around 45 mins everyday.

My thinking was to do the run and Zumba same day as three times per week and then between those day I’ll do have proper rest day as I walk the dogs anyway.

Any thoughts would be much appreciated

Phew... I am exhausted just reading this... you must really love exercise...!

Only you know if you are pushing too hard... but if your legs are hurting that is telling you something! My advice would be not to to do runs and Zumba on the same day...do the Zumba on your rest days between runs.. great workout and cardio exercise...your dog walking is also helping enormously!!

Hahahahah thanks. I’m trying to get fit and as I signed up for a 5km run in December I need to be prepare and luckily I have time to train and found this great program :)

Yeah your advice makes sense so I shall continue with my Schedule thanks.

Just make sure you warm up well and stretch and maybe roll after your runs... the muscles have this habit of knotting....:)

Yes I’m trying to be good at stretching after each exercise.

What do you mean by “roll after the runs”?

Foam roller and or massage stick... they are amazing. Like instruments of torture... but they work.., I use a massage stick. after every run, when I have done my stretching regime..

Gosh that sounds like a lot of training.... I've had to cut back lately as I realised I was doing too much for my body to cope with. If you can sustain and want to do this regime the only thing I would advise is a recharge week every 4 weeks or so where you cut right back. I do this and it helps ( this week is my cutback week ). 😎

Thanks! So the cut back week is a whole week of resting with not much exercise or none at all?

I don't know how much impact is involved in zumba, but rest day exercise should be non impact to permit repair and strengthening............you will have to decide.

It is recommended that all runners should have a weeks complete break from running every few months. You come back refreshed.

Zumba is like dance exercise not too much impact I think but yes I did felt in my legs that all the running and jump around. Will have a rest :)

For me- I do v v little running and just 1 bodypump session ( no spinning and v low mileage). However I've been doing this s long time. I actually think it's better to do nothing other than walking/ swimming? Very low impact to let those muscles rest !

Make sense actually so yes I’ll definitely have a cut back week next week :)

Thanks

I think Zumba is very similar set of muscles as running and it might be a good idea to let those muscles repair on the rest day. Swimming on the rest days is better in my opinion or following c25k strength and flex program.
