I know that WK7R1 was exactly the same as WK6R3 but why did it feel so much harder?! I know that I can run it because I've done it already but boy, did it feel rough this morning. I guess some runs are like that!!
The first 5 minutes I always find comfortable and today was no exception but for some unknown reason today the running gremlins appeared at the 5 min mark and they didn't bugger off till Mr Smooth told me I had been running for 12.5 mins!! I've never had these little creatures appear before and quite frankly they can disappear again!!
Can't put my finger on it but after the gremlin incident I thought to myself that there is no way that I am giving in to them so I ran. I continued to run. Singing in my hard. Breathing steadily. Good pace.
Mr Smooth popped up again to tell me that I only had 5 mins to go and this is where I started to talk to myself. Out loud. In the park. With the morning dog walkers and joggers.
I replied to his "You only have 5 mins left" with "I am a single mother who has raised 4 children, all of which have turned into hardworking young ladies. If I can do that then I can bloody well run for 5 more mins!!"" Suffice to say the dog walkers nodded their acknowledgment with a smirk on their faces and the joggers just smiled, I'm sure they'd all said things like that in their running journey!!
Anyway, WK7R1 has been bagged and I've now started to map just the running part of my journey, although I went a little over today at the end as I was still laughing about the joggers and dog walkers and their faces!!
Oh and I've signed up for my local Parkrun π¬ππ»ββοΈ
Enjoy your Sunday, whatever you're up to and lets hope that we can all keep on running!! πππ

I was out too.... it was a beautiful morning... you are doing amazingly and now, these lovely longer runs give us time to relax and enjoy and let out newly-found running legs take us onward!
Yay well done Kim. Looks a lovely run route. I always find the first 5 mins hard. You beat those gremlins off so fair play to you and the fact that you can talk whilst running and be understood is amazing. Enjoy the rest of your day. Be proud :0)
Kim, that's a great result, W7R1 leaves you 8 runs left! Cast you mind back 18 runs ago, when did the gremlins kick in then? I bet wasn't after the first 5 minutes?
You are doing brilliantly, that Graduate badge is calling you, go get it.
I like to think of them as my old self, the one that didn't run, the one that was 'happy' watching others, with each run that part of me dies, it's still there inside me and will always be there but it is becoming a memory, a part of me, like the me from school or the part of me that used to party around London, etc.
You've proved you can run for 20 minutes and you've proved you can run for 25 minutes;
If you can run for 25 minutes then you can run for 28 minutes.
If you can run for 28 minutes then you can run for 30 minutes.
Well done, think of all the wonderful things you've seen on your run today and how worth while it was. Some runs are tough and some feel easier. Today was tough for me too so you are not alone.
I swear these tough runs are sent to us to test our strength of character, our resilience and out sheer bloody mindedness!! It sure does feel good when I've finished!!
