Beginner here!

So today I went out and bought the trainers that I hope will change my life! I've lost 5 stone this year, and I have another 4 to go, and I've been walking about 2 miles a day for the last four months. I live in the middle of the countryside and I've been using every excuse not to run but it's my 46th birthday tomorrow and I'm starting the C25K first thing in the morning. Please tell me I'm not mad!!!

Well done on your amazing weight loss!

This programme will certainly improve your fitness and contribute towards all the hard work you have already done this year!

Remember that when you run you must GO SLOW - if you find that you are running slower than you walk you'll be doing it right! 🐢

It's about SLOWLY building stamina & finding your happy pace which you will find naturally around week 6. 😊

Imagine how far you will have come by the end of the year - you'll look amazing & feel fantastic!

Happy Birthday! 💐

I would love to know what everyone is doing to lose so much weight, I've lost about 3 stone since late may, C25K is really helping at the minute though.

Welcome to C25K, you aren't mad, I had my 46th birthday last Monday so you're fine plus there are a few 'wiser' people on here shall we say.

Just take it slow and steady, don't try to break any speed records, let your fitness and stamina levels build, trust the program, the levels will build quicker than you think they will.

Be sure to let us know how you're getting on, the people on here are very helpful and will also motivate you if you need it.

Happy birthday for tomorrow.

Your not mad 😂 I'm 57 and done my very 1st run today!!

Wow, well done !

What a fantastic achievement already this year.

No you're not mad.....I think we are all having a 'midlife analysis' instead of a midlife crisis.

What a great way to kick off your birthday 🎉

Have a great day & enjoy your run 👍🏻☺️x

Wow what a great achievement already. On top of your successful weight loss you are giving yourself an amazing birthday present too!

Slow and steady, it's a light jog not a sprint. Remember to walk slow enough to be able to have breathe to run, so just a good pace but not power walking.

Enjoy, and let us know how it all goes 😃🏃🏼‍♀️

It went much better than I expected it to - I was fine - and I'm actually looking forward to tomorrow. I've got a bit of a cold which made me huff and puff more tha. I should have but my legs felt like they could have done more!
