Back into it?

Today I ran W9R1. I'm afraid I haven't been a faithful follower of C25K over the summer. I know I'm making excuses for myself but trying to fit in regular runs while the children were off school and with other activities going on over the holidays I let the running slide. But over the last two weeks I have got back into it and finished week 7, completed week 8 and now here I am at the start of week 9. I struggled a bit today, contemplated calling it quits at about 24 minutes but then I saw a lady walking her dog appear from the gate at a field I was passing. I had already overtaken her earlier in my run but she had walked across the fields I had just run round. I decided there was no way she was going to see me defeated so I kept at it and even picked up a bit of pace. In the end I did it just about 30 minutes of running (I think I may have lost some seconds here and there crossing roads safely!). I really want to make this my routine - 30 minutes of running 3 times a week - can I stick to it?

If you want to, you can! And the benefits are huge. You won't regret it if you do, but nobody can do it for you. So - can you?

Only you can do it. But IMO there's no point in going through all that sweat 😓 and pain 😩 through the programme if you don't then stick to it.

You know what this programme has done for you in terms of fitness. The only way to maintain that is to carry on running.

You may need to find some targets to keep up the momentum. I would thoroughly recommend parkrun, which every runner should experience.

Well done for sticking with it when it got tough.

Keep running, keep smiling.

Thanks everybody. I made it out this morning and completed W9R2. Took my daughter with me for company. She was on her bike and I jogged along behind or along side when she found the hills tough and I caught her up!
