Getting back into it - 3K conquered!

Well I said on my last post I was going to attempt 20 minutes of running this week. This I have done and it feels amazing!

I managed 3.26km in the 20 minutes which I am chuffed to pieces with and I felt really good during the run. The first 15 minutes I seem to have down now - just those last few minutes where I began to tire but that’s totally normal!

Thank you for all the feedback on my last post, I am aware winging it is not the best idea when running! So I am going to stick with the 20 minutes for a couple of weeks now to consolidate before moving up anymore.

Fantastic work! I remember that daunting 20 minute run and looking back I think it's amazing not only how your body physically adapts to the challenge but also how limiting our minds can be in telling us that we can't do it. When we absolutely can!

100% it was my mind that was the biggest hurdle to cross! The longer I had off from running the worse it got because I really believed I would be back to square one, as soon as I took the plunge and had a go I realised how much my mind had held me back!

As I’ve said before, our mind is our own worst enemy 🙄

My preferred morning "wake up" run is about 3km too.

Weirdly it’s quite a nice distance isn’t it?
