Wow hit the wall tonight. Never really hit the wall but my legs just kept stopping. Soooo achy in the calves. Luckily had my 17 yr old with me and she kept me going. But man that was a hard run. Don't know it it was mind over matter it being 28 mins but that 3 mins sure did feel like a lifetime.

Cazza just a thought, have you been taking an extra days rest now you're on the longer intervals? I am not saying you should, but when I did it looking back, an extra day would have made a big difference to me. Cumulatively it's conceivable you've run over 100km by now and the cumulative impact is getting greater.

Either way well done for keeping going, despite those vu long extra three minutes!

Hi Jan I've had a few rest days for this one as life just gets in the way at the moment I'm only managing 2 runs a week. I think a lot of it was mind over matter and also just recently started slimming world so I'm wondering if the change in diet is having an affect too.

Could be right.....in any event you're doing blooming well

I felt exactly like this when I did the first 28 min and again the second time. I went back to 25 min for a couple of runs and then managed to do the 28 more comfortably. For me I realized that I wasn't quite ready for those extra min at that time but we are all different and hopefully it will be better next time.

You are doing brilliantly :)

Hi Jaynie I think I'm gonna do the same, go back to 25 min run for the next one and then see how I go. It's amazing how 3 mins can make such a difference to you mentally and physically!! Good luck to you and let me know how you get on.

Well done for persevering Cazza73 and well done for your 17 year old for encouraging you.

Hope you are going to treat those achy calves to a nice warm bath. I'm hope Week 8 run 2 is a little easier. It's amazing the difference those 3 extra minutes make. :-)

You are doing so well, I hit the wall going from 2x8 minutes to a 20 mins, my first failure but it has only made me more determined to do it.

I found that one really hard too it's a massive jump but keep going. Week 5 seemed to take me forever to complete also I kept going backwards in terms of runs and repeated run 1 about 3 times. Just don't give up.
