Just back from completing W5R2 and feeling great. 2nd 8 minute run was harder than the 1st (understandably!) but I was determined. Even though it was hard, it was manageable - my lungs and legs have strengthened so much over the past weeks! It's definitely a case of mind over matter now - I've got the 20 minute run to do on Wednesday and I've got to learn to stop clock watching!!! π
Yay!!! I've done W5R2!!! So pleased. - Couch to 5K
Yay!!! I've done W5R2!!! So pleased.
Well done, with regards to the 20 minute run you have next, there is a brilliant quote from the upcoming Star Wars film, on the trailer for it you hear Luke Skywalker saying, 'Breathe, just breathe' control your breathing, listen to the music and just go with it, you can do it, I did it yesterday morning and I am a 46 ear old 22 stone guy.
You will do it Saratamsin..start really slowly, think of it as five minute chunks and keep going..
Look forward to hearing your whoop on Wednesday. π
Well done today.x
Yay!! Well done ππΌ Did mine this morning and I felt great after.
Looks like we'll both be on for W5R3 together on Wednesday!!
We've got this!!
Have done good music on, put your phone in your bra so you can't see it and enjoy the scenery! It will fly by! Good luck.
Relax, pace yourself - I found as I got to Week 5 that I seemed to speed up quite early in the runs. I think it was just one of those things as you get fitter I started off faster. I am not a fan of poring over the stats because it can make you (me!!!) too competitive. But I did check it out, and sure enough I was going a bit too fast at first, then of course I ran out of puff...
Slow and steady wins the day and the Wednesday grin will be one of your widest...
That's great advice, thanks so much. I suspect I'm doing the same - setting off a bit fast and getting tired. I'll keep you posted!
