Crying 😭 😭

WK5R2 has bought me to my knees and tears 😭 but fear not fellow C25K people they're tears of achievement, joy and happiness and did I really just do that? 😁😁

I'll admit I was a little anxious about this run but I donned my gear and headed out the door with Mr Smooth in my ear and Ed Sheehan playing in the background.

Warm up walk for 5, run for 8, recovery walk of 5, run for 8 and that's when I broke down in tears. Right there. In the middle of the park. With dog walkers watching and did I care? Absolutely not!!! I had just ran for 2 lots of 8 minutes and I still felt as thought I had more to give!!! It felt wonderful 😊

I shall also remember this run as the run where I found the perfect pace, my breathing found its own rhythm and I was finally at peace with this whole running thing!!

Thanks to everyone for their encouragement so far. I feel ready to tackle and take down WK5R3 which is just over the horizon!!

To everyone that is starting on their own C25K journey or if you're thinking is this for me, can I really do it then the answer is yes!! Yes, yes, yes!! Get out there and you'll soon find yourself falling in love with running πŸƒπŸ»β€β™€οΈβ€οΈπŸƒπŸΌπŸƒπŸ»β€β™€οΈβ€οΈπŸƒπŸΌ

Well done, you have found your perfect pace and breathing, you will breeze the rest of it.

Now grab yourself a little treat and when you look in the mirror be sure to remind yourself that you are an amazing person and that you own the next run.

Well done you! You're doing an amazing thing - and I say this as a non-runner who found himself this morning at 05:45 heading out the door to run for 28minutes less than two months after feeling like I was stretching myself doing 1 minute Run and 90 seconds walking (to be honest the 5 minutes warm up walk was a bit of a stretch! So keep it up, keep that perfect pace - don't worry if you have a blip at some point and have I said - keep on going! I won't wish you good luck for your next run - I'm sure you'll knock it out of the park.

Well done! I remember W5R2 - I did it on the hottest day of the year (June 22), and had to wait till 9:15 pm for the temperature to drop to a "mere" 28 C! I think I, too found my perfect pace, to the extent that the 5 minute recovery walk wasn't really necessary - after about 2 minutes my breathing had returned completely to normal and I felt ready to run again (but still stuck to the program). It was also one of my happiest runs - the only thing I dreaded was the temperature (in the afternoon it had been as high as 36).

Kimchoc08 profile image
Kimchoc08Graduateβ€’ in reply toiain-strachan

That is exactly how I felt about the recovery walk. Isn't it strange how all of a sudden we start to love running and don't want the walking part to come!

I remember that day as I was in a classroom with 30 kids and the temp was about 39Β° so hats off to you mate for running in it!!
