Where has all that positivity gone 😩

So I started back at work after a long six week break on Wednesday but still felt very positive about continuing the practices I'd started over the summer. I did my second run of week 3 on the Tuesday before my return to work and that went well πŸ™‚. Next run Thursday, Thursday came and went so I said to myself Friday, I will definitely do it on Friday. Friday came and went (you can see the pattern here can't you)

Well I'm pleased to say I dug deep and completed week 3 run 3 this afternoon. I think (I hope) I've got a new wave of enthusiasm πŸ˜‚ pray for me πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

I know that feeling, I couldn't complete W3R3 till this morning. Work kept getting in the way. But at least, W4 to look forward to.

I'm going to guess you're a teacher like me?? I've set some work life balance goals this year, and running is part of that. I have meetings Monday and Wednesday after school, so I'm determined to leave at 4:30 on Tuesdays and Thursdays. That allows me to get home and squeeze in a run before tea. I'm determined to get my fitness sorted, as I know I've let it slip. It's time to take care of my wellbeing - and I'm going to work hard to achieve it. I've just started week 3 today! You can definitely do it! Think back to when you started, and why you started. What were you hoping to achieve?

I have had lots of occasions when I could have run but talked myself out of it, and I have later regretted it every single time. Never once have I regretted making myself run when I just didn't feel like it.

I have now learnt not to question myself, just get on with it. Pre-run gremlins are very sneaky. Well done for overcoming them.

I definitely did talk myself out of it and you're right I didn't feel good about it. Maybe I've learnt my lesson now and I did feel good about completing my run. Thank you for sharing πŸ™‚

Well done for getting out there - just try to carry that post-run great feeling with you so you can remember it if you feel your motivation flagging. I know I'm on cloud nine since my run this evening, and that's what's going to get me out of the door for the next run in a couple of days time!

I put the planned runs in my calendar. It just makes me take a bit more responsibility. Just a little thought.

Getting it to the point of habit is key and like Ashleev says, to try and remember you are doing this for you. You wont regret running but you would probably regret not running. I leave all my gear out in the morning so I don't have time to talk myself out of it. πŸ˜€ You can do this. πŸ‘πŸΌ Before you know it, you'll be there.
