W8R1 - where has the air gone!! Way too hot even at 9pm

So chuffed to have completed this one, especially seeing how hot it is. Did anyone run during the day today? If you did - sorry but you’re a fool 😝

Wasn’t too nervous about this one as anyone who’s seen some of my previous posts will know my philosophy- after W7 my new running norm is now 25 mins, so today was only 3mins more. Ha bloody ha!!!!

I’m finding I’m getting into my stride quicker the longer the program goes on - we’ll inside 5mins now. Breathing is good and I settle in to a comfortable pace.

MJ doesn’t talk to me enough anymore - he probably thinks I don’t need him, but gentle reminders every 5 mins let me know he’s still there for me. Anyway I have recently found Runkeeper and you can choose the voice of your coach, drill Sargent etc. I opted for mademoiselle - she gives me a little pick me up every 5 minutes😊

Hit 20 mins - only 8 to go . Hit 25 (my norm) only 3 to go - blimey they were hard. If I didn’t have the program I’m sure I would have stopped but I carried on and at the end my eg was shaking like a tickled dog but the sense of achievement is overwhelming.

Keep on keeping on

I think there were a few people who ran today in the heat but I wouldn't call them fools, just say they probably did not realize how hot it was and will like me who ran this morning before it got hot to do just that, run in the morning. I know that owing to work duties, not all can do the runs in the morning, if not try the late evening about 30 minutes before the sun sets.

Hi there hope I didn’t cause offence, my comment was meant vey much tongue in cheek. I appreciate people get out there when they can, but I can’t imagine how difficult it must have been if anyone did go out during the day.

Well run.

Well done.

Did w9r1 first thing- 6.00 am today and it was ok. I just find it generally easier to run in the morning but especially when it's warm!

I really admire those that can get out in the morning. Although I’m a morning person I couldn’t face a run first thing - I wish I could though I imagine it really sets you up for the day.

Fantastic achievement- I’m due to run this evening but it won’t be until about 9pm. Otherwise it’s 6am - I’ve been varying it but it’s quite a rush before work. Might just have to bite the bullet and get up even earlier!! Enjoy your running x

I ran at 6pm as I was waiting for my buddy as she said she would run with me after she finished work but she changed her mind because of the heat. I don’t blame her but I was geared up to go, so I went and it was ok. Paul McCartney kept me company with The Fool on the Hill, very appropriate don’t you think?

😊 I think what got me was just how still the air was - found it very difficult towards the end. Reinforces the need to stay well hydrated or as MJ says rehiiighdrated 😊

Yes it was hot yesterday. I run at lunchtime so no shade. At 14 mins I threw caution to the wind and took my t-shirt off and ran in my sport's bra. Had checked the security 📷 couldn't see me 😂. Wondered why my face was still bright red 2hours later... It was sunburn

Fair play to you - I can't imagine how hot it must have been to run at lunchtime yesterday - well done you!

Well done you! I only managed half of my w7 r3 yesterday, I couldn't take the heat any longer! Managed today tho thankfully.

My weeks are becoming fortnights. If only I could get out of bed a bit earlier

We do 6 o'clock too, but in the AM! Nice and early, really cool and the wildlife at Stanwick Lakes where we run is awesome. . We are finished by 7AM and have a little time to sit and watch before home, cleaned and work. Sets us up for the day.

Hi there - I'm not that far from Stanwick Lakes and have never thought about this as a place for a run - I bet it is just beautiful on these glorious mornings! Good on ya for getting out there at 6am - i'm envious!!

It was great this morning. There was a heavy mist across the lakes and wildlife from a Red Kite to lots of rabbits, water voles are there somewhere too, but obviously not when running. It was very cool this morning, just perfect. There are others there too, always get a cheery Hi and the peace is lovely. The paths are almost all flat with just a couple of mild inclines.

Running from the visitor centre towards Ringstead to the bridge. Turn right round the loop and then left on the main path again. Take a right and right again. Long way to the road, round the small lake back to where you started and that is 5K! Alternatively do a Parkrun. Lovely bunch of people and walk it or run it.

Good luck with the running. Graduation looms... :-)
