Had to sack my run half way through this morning😰😰couldn't see for the rain and I thought my kagoul was waterproof and it isn't so I was like something that had been dragged out of the canal by the time I returned home💦💦
Grrrrrr: Had to sack my run half way through... - Couch to 5K
Grrrrrr
I was wondering what people wear in the rain?
I wear my normal running Tee with a run jacket in the rain or also if cold but not below freezing.
For temps freezing and below i use a long sleeve base layer, with a run jacket over if it is also wet.
I use a cap in wet weather. In very cold weather i will wear a thin running beany or a buff over my ears so that my head doesnt get too warm.
But we are all different so try a few variations.
New specialism in "underwater running"? Must have been very frustrated....
I never wear a "waterproof" jacket when running, simply because I sweat a lot and would only get wet from the inside out. I would rather feel that air across my body.
Once you are wet, you are wet.........you may as well carry on running.
I did my first wet run this morning. I just wore my normal top as I get very hot running and borrowed my husband's cap (just a cheap one from decathlon that you can stick in the wash) which helped keep the rain off my face. It seemed to work well and it kept me cooler than usual.
They shrug rain off though. A cap will be a boon 😃
Off to run in the pouring rain, which you just get used to as it's such a frequent occurrence. Trick is to try and stick close to home. Brisk walk home do you don't get chilled
My run jacket is showerproof only, but as long as you keep moving being wet is fine. It's when you stop that you get cold
Thanks for the tips - hubby just gave me his running rain breathable jacket - here's to the next run 🏃🏻
I tried my run on Sunday with a waterproof - frankly it could be and was a pain, I ended up very hot when it stopped raining and then had to faff taking it off and putting it back in its integrated pocket. Then I could feel the elasticated belt around my waist. IgaT suggested a hoodie, I may go for that I think...
Yeap, I survived a hail and pouring rain once in that hooded fleece (good one from Mountain Warehouse). It is definitely NOT waterproof, but it kept me nice and warm although all soggy and as if I had a bath / swim in all I had on me
I still need to buy a cap, as it may improve my sight considerably. For now it's just, let's hope it's a good direction and that I am visible to everyone else, as all I can see is water on my glasses
I am honestly dreading having to put more clothes on...I love the freedom of just a Tshirt & cannot bear waterproof jackets coz you get wet inside them even when it's not raining!!! Id run in a bikini if I didn't think I'd get arrested!!! Lol
