Whooop whoop I did it ππππππππ
Not as bad as expected once settled into it after the first 5-10 mins where I struggled to find the right pace - my friend calls that the toxic 10 !!!
All seemed to be smooth after that for me to my great surprise but I was in a great positive head space today which helps me loads . Few gremlins popped in to say hello at 5 mins to go shout out from Mr S . In my usual manor my response was to shout out my mantra & pushed them away very quickly .
I even managed to increase my speed for the last 60 secs as kindly but gently suggested by my gorgeous smooth mentor . ( still very slow however as up from 5km/h to 6km/h )- Who would argue with that gorgeous voice ????
Anyway my lovely running family .... I'm off to Paxos & Corfu for 11 days sunshine and relaxation tonight . Can't believe this is me ..... BUT running gear and trainers washed and packed πββοΈπββοΈ . My post for advise re this later !!

Toxic 10 is a well known phenomena.. and for some toxic 15 or 20 Very, very well done you... and double points for taking the running gear on the hols too! Have a brilliant time
Any Advise re running on holidays - I am uncertain of the roads - first week in small harbour village near shingle beach then on a sand beach back on mainland . So far my c25k is 90% running on treadmill so will have challenges of heat - going to do early morning ; running outside and trying to keep pace ; ? Hills ?
Would I be better repeating wk 6 as plan running every 3rd day = 3-4 runs or push on with wk 7 ? My husband on wk6r1 next time out so could do it together .
Drink plenty the day before , take it slowly I used the road (paths very uneven) very quiet at 630am go early you will feel amazing , I ran snail paced up the hill but so enjoyable ππ
well done - did mine on Friday - and starting week 7 on Monday - in Suffolk for me - not as Glam as where your off too, but beggars cannot.....etc.
Have a great hol and keep on running!
Well done fellow smoothie, here is the hot weather person checking in for you...I had to run in 30+ this summer. Go as early in the day as you can, suss out the routes before hand by walking there at the time you intend running, so you can see where the shade is. Wet your head and vest with water, put conditioner on your hair to protect it from hot hot sun' it looks awful, but is my beauty tip...
Put your water bottle in the freezer the day before and half full, top up with water in the morning. It gives you something to hold onto that's cool and is refreshing. If you haven't done hills yet in your training so far, I'd recommend not adding them in now with the heat. I am not a fast runner but my 'pace' is anything up to 25% slower in the heat, so add that to your normal treadmill pace and the hills just may be the proverbial straw...
But sunny running is doable, just be kind to yourself on expectations. Happy running in a lovely country...
As ever fantastic advise Jancanrun - not thought of most of those - conditioner, frozen water , wet vest etc etc
I will try my best but something better than nothing if I have to slip back from 25min runs --- however positive thinking all the way . Mr Smooth will keep me right along with my very own hero of a husband πππππ here we come
