Back up to 30 minutes but...

...I seem to have lost my love for running slightly.

After resting up for 2 weeks due to a knee injury I have slowly built back up to 30 minutes. The last 3 runs have felt so hard both physically and mentally I have started to dread them. I honestly feel like I'm running through treacle. Maybe I need an incentive. Maybe I need another holiday πŸ˜‚Who knows!

I felt like that for a few weeks after graduating - running through treacle is the perfect description!! It definitely does get better I promise, you've just got to gently ride the storm until your legs get stronger. I started listening to different music, positivity podcasts (I know... desperate times!), planning my life after winning the lottery, anything to get another 30 mins until my belt! Bought new trainers & kit so there was no way I could justify giving up. It's worked - so far and finally things are easier. I'm going to enjoy that for a long time, before I try to up the ante.

Good luck you will get there - and you've come so far!

Thank you 😊

I will give the podcasts and different playlists a try.

I love the feeling of accomplishment after the run but I find 30 minutes feels like a lifetime at the minute. Hopefully things will improve soon.

I know I won't give up I just need to find the love again.

Thanks again 😊

I know what you mean, sometimes it's just 30 mins of hell.

They do all kinds of podcasts - comedy ones, informative, TED talks, the lot, it definitely seems to make time go quicker for me. Good luck!
