Well.... that was interesting...I set off in the sunshine yesterday organised, hydrated and positive, couple of minutes into my 5 minute warm up walk I selected my run playlist and shuffled. Nothing, no sound, odd - tried a few times and realised Jo has gone unusually quiet too; volume levels all, good phones plugged in properly, most odd. Another techie hitch to gloss over then! But it was time to run 8 minutes the app clock tells me so off I went clueless but resolved. First run was fine, squeaked out a few hellos to dog walkers passing by,
I followed the app's quiet clock until I got towards the end without drama and enjoyed it so much ...then I had a bright idea π‘ why don't I run on through the cool down walk to prep myself for the imminent (longer) run 3, as I'd been feeling a tad nervous, so that's what I did, resulting in a 13 minute run π. Slowed down to a brisk walk and 2 or 3 minutes later -a sudden downpour! The heavy rain continued so I decided I was getting far too wet and not too close to home yet so I ran on instead ...well, jogged really- it was great! I passed people hiding under trees for shelter and on I went - few grins thrown at my predicament but I didnt mind being thoroughly drenched, it happens. A record run for me. The app recorded a 39 minute run π€£. I felt so good and so thankful I can do all this and other workouts, my body works well and I'm healthy (especially as getting a bit older now I've been nit picking myself - but no more! )
Later I headed out with a friend to Birmingham to see Miss Saigon which was fantastic and a nice treat! My legs are aching a little this morning but it's all good. I hope I keep momentum.
