I'm on week 8 but have kept going for a bit longer than Michael J says because I feel I run so slowly I'm not nearly at 5k. Is this ok to do, or should I follow the plan religiously??

Hi I would stick to the plan that way you avoid injury especially as you are so close now. You can get away with it once but now go back to the plan don't worry about not getting to 5K that will come in time.
Well done! Good to see, but you only need to get to 30mins at w9 and not 5k, although it's c25k, so you can slow it down again as much as you like running to times.. and not distance.. hopefully you'll speedup naturally in good time..and try for 5k after graduation and consolidated some 30 min runs, don't worry about being slow, it's great your trying to do it..😊
I think at W8, if you feel you can go a bit longer you are unlikely to do any harm, especially if your pace is gentle. After all, next week you will be going a bit longer too.
I think most of us did it at some point.

Just stick to it... the time for speed can come later if you wish..Get to the Podium injury free.. and this is such a great journey..it seems shame to take it too quickly
