Busy week for everyone I guess, leading up to Christmas and trying to get some runs in! I am now watching Sports Personality of the Year and if anyone needs a bit of inspiration I'd recommend you watch it.
I hadn't run for a week, but got back on the treadmill today and ran my 30 mins [4.5 km] - still amazes me I can run for that long - and I have finally got to the point where i'm not apprehensive before I run thinking 'will I keep going for 30 mins?' I've done it enough times now to know that I can. Now need to start concentrating on covering 5Km in 30 mins.
Can't get my head round how much I love my running!
Hope everyone is having a good week, wherever you are on the programme you can do this! Enjoy it - when you get to the end the sense of achievement is wonderful!

What a lovely post MotherGoose! Have you joined the Endomondo challenge or do you always run on a treadmill? Have a brilliant Christmas - at least if we eat too many mince pies we know how to get rid of the extra calories!
Ooh what's the Endomondo challenge? I'm running outside at weekends and doing the treadmill in the week. Mince pies and stollen are currently my downfall! Need to make sure i keep running! Have a lovely Christmas too x
Hi MotherGoose nice to hear from you, although I have been lazy about coming on here of late Just seem to run out of time most days. Outside running has taken a dunt because of the snow, ice and then heavy rain so have been down to the gym and using the treadmill but its just not the same as the good outside.
Its interesting to read you are no longer apprehensive when going out for a run, I used to talk myself into "Got to do it" mode which I'm sure was not a good system as it can make a person tense and tight which can then lead to injuries. Then one day I was talking myself into "got to do 5K run" when I pulled myslef up and said "No you don't just go out for a run and enjoy whatever I manage" I did just that and have never looked back, not once. If I don't feel like a fast run I have a gentle one, if I feel like a challenge then I put my all into it. It seems to work for me and I still love my running/jogging.
So my words to everyone out there who starts to beat themselves up because they didn't run their planned route fast enough or didn't complete the distance, so what, there is always another day.
Deliaitaly put me onto the challenge. You'll find it at endomondo.com/challenges. There's quite a few of us signed up. Hopefully it will keep me right over Christmas!
