W6R2....DONE!!!!!!

I can't believe it because I am soon to be on Week 7!!!! Just the long one of week 6 to do next....!!

The first 10 minutes of this run seemed the longest, it must be to do with getting into the rhythm, waiting for your breath to sort itself out, I don't know...there's all sorts going on in the first 10 minutes....then, the 3 minute walk flies by, when Mr Smooth announces that it's only 3 mins you "whaaaaat????" But actually, I was def ready to start again when the walk was up....second 10 minutes...no gremlins, no cursing at Mr Smooth..I was just enjoying my run & it dawned on me how deep and steady my breaths were about how well I was doing!! When he said 60 seconds to go I was surprised coz I could've run for longer....all in all a very satisfying run...another one in the bag!!!

So if there's any newbies out there that are thinking they can't do it...I am seriously telling you ...YOU CAN!!! So NO MORE EXCUSES.....get your trainers & your headphones on & go and experience one of the best feelings in the world!!!!

Thankyou everyone.....

Hey, I knew you could do it, amazing performance, fair play. Wk 7 next and you'll soon be there. Glad you didn't listen to those pesky gremlins, lol. Runners don't want gremlins on their run, haha x 😊

I run an out-and-back 5k from my house. I drive that same route on my commute and I still drive past everyday and can't quite believe I can run all that way - even when I just have not 30 minutes earlier.

It is a wonderful feeling getting through W6. W7 was my favourite. The week when I realised I was and runner and I really knew I could do it. Your on the home straight now. Well done!!

You'll nail it...you're doing so well...don't set off too fast for the first 10 minutes...just let yourself slowly get into the rhythm....& it will just happen...enjoy it 😊

Great stuff Mummycav - you are totally over the hurdle now. I was a bit nervous of W6R3 but after finding r1 very hard and r2 half tough and half good (just like you) I actually enjoyed r3 and all of w7. Very very well done!

I would recommend that anyone who is in doubt about their ability to do this programme goes back to the beginnings of Mummycav's posts and how she was sure that she couldn't do it. The progress through the weeks is a demonstration of how this plan works. And also of what a marveous place this forum is.

Well done, cav. Can you see that finishing line yet? The medal is being polished as I write.

I was thinking exactly the same sheps!

Awww, thanks Sheps...I've certainly been on here ALOT since I started...& when I read through my posts, I can see my highs & lows...I had a proper sulk on a coupla weeks ago but now look at me?!! I know I've still got a way to go but, like you say, reading right back from my beginning should hopefully encourage others to keep going, well, I really hope it does...I'm on it like a tramp on chips now!!!! 😉

Excellent, you've just smashed the two runs that I found hardest in the whole program. You definitely belong with all the other runners at the park run on Saturday.

Well....we'll all know by 10:30 sat morning!!!! 😱😱

Brilliant stuff fellow smoothie! Deep steady breathing, steady running and you had more in the tank.... so you are a runner oh and guess what that's 3 official weeks before graduation, you will be doing fab by the time the 9 weeks comes up.
