So, to start with, two months ago I couldn’t run for the train without feeling like i was going to throw up. Running wasn’t for me. How do people run for such long distances. Anyway, along came C25K. I am the kind of person who likes a challenge and move out of their comfort zone so I thought I would give it a try.
Anyway, from the first session, Ive not missed a run. One day on, one day off regardless of weather and due to the amazing encouragement and support from the people on this site I never let ‘Can’t be bothered’ be an excuse.
Today was my W9R1. I have just come back and am so amazed that I have actually managed to run a full 30 minutes without stopping. And I mean, I am amazed. Secondly, I actually hit 5K. Two huge goals achieved in one day.
Two more runs before the actual course is finished and now I feel its actually time to invest in some decent gear and this is something I’m going to be doing for a long time.
Again, this is a great site and the people are so encouraging and supportive.

Well done, that's a very impresive pace there, i also did w9r1 tonight, but no where near 5k, 3.5k actualy, but felt quite comfortable with it. Like you say, it's mad how we can now run for 30 mins, good luck with your last 2 runs! 😀
Thank you. I do feel the 5k bit was just a bonus. The real achievement is keeping it going for 30 minutes. It is such a result. W9 R2 on Wednesday for us. Nearly there.
Tomorrow is 28 mins, the following runs are currently planned as 28.5 mins, then 29 mins, then 30 mins, then 31.5 mins, then a "graduation" of 5km (no time target). All within the 10% per week, and all with slow/fast intervals. And then... who knows?
Well done mg1011, buying nice new running gear is great and a real boost to your confidence wearing it. If your buying new running shoes remember to go half a size bigger. Well done on completing W9R1 your doing great and Graduation is now in sight 🏅👀
