WK 7 : RUN 1 - "SUN" of a "GUN"

Hey lovely peeps πŸ€—

My last run was Monday and I should have started WK 7 on Wednesday, but alas, my hands were tied.......not literally, lol.....shame πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Anyway, I booked this afternoon off from work and thought I'd include my run in as well as other jobs on my list, lol.

I wasn't sure what to expect, (I like that sometimes......surprise and anticipation, haha), so when Laura said 25 minutes of solid running.....I thought righto, let's do it.

First five minutes felt quite difficult in terms of, where's my energy gone......but I kept to my usual pace and after Laura said I was 12.5 minutes in, I thought I'd quicken my pace slightly. This felt okay for a few minutes, then I decided to slow down again and catch my breath.

I expect others feel the same in respect of thinking, "how am I going to get to the end, or, how long is 5 minutes as it seems like 10, haha?"

Well, what I find that helps, is that no matter how tired my legs are, or how much I'm out of puff, I just picture in my mind putting one foot in front of the other, looking forward and keeping upright and just thinking, I can do this, I can do this and just keep moving forward the best I can.

I also think of this forum and the lovely people I've become to know and thinking of all the encouragement and advice that you all give me and that gets me through....especially the last few long runs like 20 minutes and now this one. I even quicker my pace for the last minute, as suggested by Laura 😊

Thank you lovelies for all the advice and encouragement you've given me and for putting up with my mug on here each time, haha. 😘 It's a tired one today, not because of the run as such, just general tiredness....oh and a slightly red terminator eye πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜Š

MarkyD........Yay, I wore pink trainers and very bright top, lol! It's a good job it won't allow more than one upload πŸ˜„

You know you're a runner when you book time off and choose to run during it... well done QB. How many tee-shirts do you actually own for a previous non runner...?

With the number you have, I'm thinking all the while you were a runner in hiding!πŸƒπŸΌπŸƒπŸΌπŸƒπŸΌπŸƒπŸΌπŸ‘

Thank you lovely 😊

I think I have 5 tees and 1 decent colourful vest Jan (seen in pics), the one MarkyD gave me 5/10 for, lol πŸ˜… far more than I have normal tees, as not really a tee shirt wearer. I love the vests though, so much cooler, need to shift weight from my middle though....but it's not budging πŸ€”πŸ˜•

It was nice to run at a different time too, shame it's the same old time most times, but I work 9-5, so it's bit of a bum really x

The weight will start to shift as you run further. In a few weeks you'll be running 3*30 minutes. Speed is not important, just running duration at a comfortable pace.

Thank you MarkyD, (can I call you Mark please πŸ˜‹because when I type your name in full and press the space bar, my phone changes it to Mark?πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ I alter it few times, but nope it doesn't want it. So I have to click elsewhere on my text and it changes it then) πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‹

Anyway.......thank you for the encouraging advice ref the weight, it gives me even more incentive to do this running. I've read it's good for weight loss, but it's good to hear from lovely people like yourself and from people that I'm slowly getting to know on here, even though it's virtual. You are so nice 😊

Thank you.

Thanks Old floss, appreciate your comment x

Yes I think I must be getting something from this running. Just can't believe I've stuck to it as I can go through phases with sports. But cycling and now running are my firm faves, so I'd like to be fitter for these two sports. Can't believe I get a buzz, haha x πŸ€—

Yellow?? Yellow!!!!! I predict you are going to run out of tops before the end. You've got 8 more runs to go.

Fab progress, by the way. You are blitzing these runs.

Ah thank you MarkyD, haha I think you could be right, especially when I tell you I bought 5 more yesterday!! πŸ˜†πŸ˜†πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ€—πŸ€—

Three are proper sports tops and two were 'fake' ones lol. Can't tell you how chuffed I was when I bought them......(I bet you will I hear you say haha) πŸ˜‚

Watch this space

Thank's again πŸ‘
