My new running mantra. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜πŸ˜‡

Are running socks a must? If so, any advice on the type to wear. I have a blister on the inside of my foot after last night's run. Many thanks

They do help prevent blisters. double layered ones are good, that way the movement is between the layers of sock, not against your skin.

1000 mile socks spring to mind

Thank you. Great advice. May need to treat myself to a pedicure also!! It's only fair that my feet get a pamper ...they are working very hard at the moment. 😁

I hate wearing socks and never usually wear any but i was in decathlon and they had some really nice pink ones that matched my trainers ( they do do other colours) and wow! They made my trainers feel like i was running on clouds. My trainers are compfy anyway but id never run without my socks again. There only 3.99 for 2 pairs , my receipt calls them eliofeel. Id definitely recommend.

Thank you. Bargain for two pairs.

I had a huge blister on week one and my wife produced some Savlon blister plasters, (probably been in the cupboard for years) like an oval clear plastic. The instructions were to clean the area and leave on for several days, couldn't believe that would work but it was fantastic ran, showered didn't feel a thing then days later I had to peel it off blister gone, brilliant πŸ‘

Moleskin plasters are great too, to pad around the blister.

Like it!

As for socks, I wouldn't run without them, they make my very comfortable running shoes even better! I've got Asics trainer socks and I also use my summer weight walking socks from Rohan.

Happy Running!

I know a lot of people swear by the double skins, but I can't wear them myself. I really need no seams across my toes so wear Balega in my road shoes and Nike Dri Fit in my trail shoes (as I run through a lot of mud and puddles and they don't make me feel like I'm being weighed down).

I have lots of socks, some thin, some thick, some for longer distances. I never run without socks

If I am running further than 10k I put Vaseline on my feet and toes. If I do get a blister on a long run I just put Vaseline on it and leave it alone

I like sportsdirect marathon socks for my longer runs. I got them as a gift πŸ™‚
