Would you say it's ok to do park run this coming Saturday even though I will only be on wk 7 ? R1 . I used to do them after I graduated last time but fancy doing one this sat. My daughter says I should wait . But after the 25 mins is up I'll walk rest of the 5k .Thanks in advance

Well.. if you fancy it... you are sensible and you know the form.. use the first five mins from the start line to warm up walk, then do the run.. and after the 25 mins, use what is left as a cool down walk :) Fun!

Yes, definitely!

Do just as you say, 25mins run and walk the rest.

Well done for getting to W7, there's no reason not to do Parkrun every Saturday now.

Good luck and let us know how you get on.

YES!!!!! Parkruns are so good for the soul and if you follow your W7 schedule then there's no way you'll finish last. If you do exactly what Oldfloss says then you'll be fine OR you could do what I do which is park my car a little way from the start (I have to drive as I don't have a Parkrun close to me) and use my walk from the car to the start as my warm up. As long as you do the warm up one way or another you'll be fine! I'm a real slow coach (and fine with it) and without fail I see everyone disappearing off into the distance at the start BUT I just plod away, normally with only the tail walker behind me, and gradually I overtake people who had raced off too fast and had to start walking. So, as difficult as it is to see everyone disappearing off, it's hugely satisfying to start overtaking people about 15 minutes in! If you do a fast walk after your 25 minutes run then those people are unlikely to overtake you again - in my experience at least!

I did exactly this as my first ever Parkrun. Wk7R1 25 mins run then I walked and ran the last bit. I just wanted to see what it was like. I wasn't disappointed...loved it! I would say go for it for sure 👍🏻
