I basically spent 25mins telling myself I should give up and walk, but somehow I ran the whole 25mins.....and then hobbled 5 minutes home.
Is anyone else having a really mixed bag with the longer runs? I LOVED wk7r1 and HATED r2.

This sounds like a head issue to me.
Right from the start you said you weren't feeling it today, you still did it but didn't get your normal feeling of satisfaction.
You could put it down to an off day, or that you started too quickly. Maybe you need more rest days now that the runs are getting longer. It takes time to build stamina...You know all this and have maybe worked out what the issue was.
Rest up and carry on...you can do this😊x
I agree with Bluebirdrunner the legs did it last time and the head made that happen. Same legs, but with a different head makes all the difference. And if you were telling yourself you couldn't do it, then that ate away at your confidence. Try an extra days rest it won't do you any harm and next time out. Give those pesky gremlins a reet good kicking
Thanks so much Jan, amazing advice. I think you are absolutely right, I wasn't having great day and was hoping the run might help. Also my legs are quite sore today which is unusual for me, so I think you could be right about the rest.
On the plus side, I have learned that being very stubborn can have it's advantages!
How long have you been running?
That will be 9 weeks and 1 run! So JNR much more of an expert than me. But I can remember something years ago about NLP and in your head using negative words, means often your brain picks up the negative. For example saying I will not give up, bizarrely your brain picks up on give up.... so any head chat always has to be positive ..... anyway rest and return stronger. Good luck next time out.
Thank you. I graduated in Nov 2015 and have been running regularly ever since just for my own fitness and recreation.
Many other graduates on here have gone on to greater distances 10k half marathons and marathons, and they all started from building on that 30 minute goal...
So no rush enjoy the journey..😊
Well done TizLiz you're nearly there! 👍
Get an audio book and take your mind off of it. If you harp on it it will be a constant struggle! Good luck I just finished the 28 minute run.
Stamina and strength take time... as one of our most excellent graduates tell us...our running legs take time to grow...mine have been struggling a tad lately !
As Bluebirdrunner says... this happens sometimes...there could be all sorts of reasons for the run you felt you had... rest up, maybe a bit longer and then just head out and t=relax into the run..let your running legs take you forward slowly...
Thank you so much to everyone for your comments! I have taken on board all of your advice and feel much better.
I think its amazing that so many of you have completed the program but still come here to help others like me. Huge respect!!
Did my second park run this morning. Last week I loved it. This week I struggled. Just one of those things.
Next time you will smash it, and so will I 💪💪
Hello everyone, just wanted to say thank you thank you thank you!! Just finished run 3 and absolutely kicked its butt, really enjoyed it.
You lot make all the difference!
