Feeling a little demoralised - hVen't run since Tuesday and struggling to get back into running shoes - unlikely to run now for another week (holiday time) - when I get back after a 2 week break will I still be able to run 5k?

Might not be quite as easy when you get back but wont take long to get you back there.

Where are you holidaying, can't you take your running shoes with you and sneak at least 1 run in

But if not go away, enjoy your holiday and come back refreshed to continue the adventure

I've had just over a week off due to an injury not from running

I only started running again this week and have kept both pace and distance down it's harder to motivate yourself when you've had a break but you can do if

If I can you can 👍Xx

Why can't you run on holiday? It's one of the joys of this running thing, exploring somewhere new 🙂

A two week break shouldn't have much impact but maybe try a 20 minute run to start with and see how you feel.

If, for some reason you can't run on holiday at least try to cross train and stretch/ do strengthening exercises every day. That will pay dividends when you do return to running.

Thanks - will be taking running shoes - no excuses 😊

And take photos for us. We love looking at where folks run 🙂

Is that a subtle way of requesting proof that I haven't just sat on a subbed drinking cocktails for a week? Lol 😊

Oops you've outed us. In fairness I like the idea of trainers and cocktails side by side in a photo. Just not sure they are really good mates for the running part. Take your trainers they deserve a change of scenery. And if they see the sights even just once, it was worth the trip.

Run... and why not run while you are on holiday?

Maybe not 5K, or even 30 minute runs, straight away otherwise... but just a gentle build up back to it...and as Irishprincess suggests , try to make sure that you do some exercise, just to keep yourself going energy wise!

My best ever runs have all been away from home.

For some holiday means slumping on the sun lounger and over indulging. For me it is an opportunity to explore a new environment and always leaves me with wonderful memories.

Always take your running kit.

You may feel quite refreshed! I found most of the obstacles were in my own mind ( what if this, what if that? ....) So, take it gently, listen to your body and run .... 🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏻‍♀️

I do understand that life can get in the way and some obstacles are trickier to get round than others.

I started this programme during my recent holiday time but it was not straightforward - my husband now works in the south of Italy and we were not able to take our annual leave at the same time. I went down there during my period of leave with our three children, to a place by the sea which could not have been better for running. I had to be back by 6.30 am though, before my husband left for work as my children are too little to be left at home alone without supervision. This mostly worked out ok, but he did was not able to stay with us every night, so there were several days and nights that I was alone with the kids and I didn't find a satisfactory solution enabling me to get out and leave them safely.

Although I have only just started this programme, I am used to trying to fit all sorts of things into a difficult schedule and think it is largely a question of trying hard to find a way to get round the obstacles and being on the lookout for moments you can seize.

Hi folks - I had my holiday, didn't run but swam in a very wavy sea and did 2 challenging long walks. Came back and today after last to of doubts and prevarication got back out there and did a slow 5k run 😊
