As happy as i am to have completed week 1 successfully, i am questioning myself as to was it really successful?!?! In the whole 30 mins i only cover 1.5 miles. I am doing it on a treadmill atm with the kids been off just fits in better. Walking at 3mph pace ans jogging at 3.7. I literally cannot go any faster, i have tried and i just wouldnt be able to finish. I just cannot see how i will ever get the 3 miles in 30 minutes. #mixedemotions. xxx
WEEK 1 FINITOπππ: As happy as i am to have... - Couch to 5K
WEEK 1 FINITOπππ
You are doing brilliantly! Fantastic achievement, starting is the really hard bit. Dont worry about distance, it should be C 2. 30mins but its not so catchy.
Read this useful link on the subject.
You were brilliantly successful! You ran when you were supposed to (jogging and running are the same thing really) and walked when you were supposed to - these are the only criteria for a successful completion. On to week 2π
Seriously leave the statistics to the geeks at this stage. You've started doing something and it's your start, your health and your pace that's the most important thing. Our mantra is slow and steady, we snails speed up over time, please don't be putting pressure on yourself so early in the plan. You have done the first week, it was a success. Don't let your head or anyone else tell you otherwise. And Jacs is spot on....
Of course you are successful - you completed the run. You are in the early stages of starting to build up your stamina and you need to go slowly to ensure you complete each run.
Of course you can't go any faster! You've just completed week 1. You only ran for 8 minutes. Plus your body is not used to running yet and you need to ease in slowly to avoid injury. At this stage it really is about getting your muscles, tendons, ligaments, lungs and everything else used to regular exercise. Many of us hadn't been working them much beforehand! So take it slow and steady, forget about speed/pace/distance and just do your own thing! Good luck and keep posting!
Big success! You ran, slow is fine and it will get faster without you realising if you follow the plan, just dont concentrate on speed or distance at this stage.
Thanks Everyone ππ. Its nice to know i am doing okay! I am my biggest critic and cause myself unnessecery problems. Haha. I just need to keep going and enjoy it!! ππ
Well done, well done. First week in the bag!
DO Not worry about your speed or distance. Over and over again you will read on this forum 'slow and steady'. The only important thing at this stage is that you plod on for the required amount of time. This program is just about you, not a race or competition.
So take your time, take your rest days, trust in the program and you'll get there.
Good luck, and happy running ... Go For It!
Youve completed W1 and that was your objective !!
Looking forward to next week when you have completed W2
