So I ran down the stairs at 6.45 this morning (despite it being school holidays) full of enthusiasm (well pretending to be) and said to the hubby "right, I've got a very short window, the met office predict rain from 8 onwards". Yeah! Someone slammed that window right shut! Half way round and the heavens opened. So now my shoes are in the airing cupboard drying out cos they are coming on a little trip with me tomorrow. From Friday onwards the rest of the program is hopefully going to be completed in Canada. I say hopefully cos I have a few fears to overcome to do this. Finding somewhere safe to run in an unknown place (I'm hoping to use Map my Run to see where others have ran) and actually running in front of others. Now my husband told me years ago I run like Eric Liddel from Chariots of Fire so I'm hoping my style has improved over the years but I'll have to wait and see if I get any weird looks. Also does everyone feel they breathe heavier than everyone else? I'm worried someone's going to call me an ambulance πŸ™ˆ

Go Eric,.. it doesn't matter what you look like.... you can always put it down to being a Brit abroad. I do.

Also having St Johns ambulance on speed dial is no disgrace. I wheeze and it's Week 7, but it does sound like healthier wheezing... have a fab break and graduate in a different Continent. How fab is that?

That's what I'm hoping, what a place to graduate 😁

Wow have a fantastic holiday! When we were on hols in Bulgaria, we (me and OH) went running, we were running along a country road........some locals came by in a car, staring at us - and slowing down......they stopped......and offered us a lift! πŸ˜‚ Can't imagine what they thought we looked like, in my head I'm one of those slim speedy lot tonking round the Olympic park, the reality is quite different πŸ˜‚

And as for going across the fields.....(fantastic by the way, miles and miles of farm tracks, and flat)......the farmer drove over to check out what we were doing.....and not nicking the corn....πŸ˜‚ Once he realised we were Brits, he just laughed said 'good morning' and drove off.....

Just do your thing, be safe (of course) but enjoy, its always fun to explore somewhere new.

If you run like Eric Liddell .. go you! Wow!

Well done on that run... and before your hols too! Enjoy them and I hope you manage to get a run in too!

Love his quote... it seems apt..

β€œI believe God made me for a purpose, but he also made me fast!"

in reply to Oldfloss

That quote from the woman who goes on about the virtues of slow?!

Thanks Oldfloss , as for Eric, it was more his style than his speed, I believe he ran with arms all over the place πŸ˜‚
