I'm feeling veery pleased with myself having run longer in this run than I've managed in my whole life!
Now the problem is I'm on holiday for two weeks where temperatures are pushing 40 degrees and I know I'm not going to run.
What do I do when I return? Repeat W5, bash on with W6 or go back even further? I don't want to lose momentum but don't know how long I can expect new found stamina to hang around for!

Go out with the intention of doing W6R1. You will never know unless you try. I left two weeks, plus change between W8R3 and W9R1. I was desperate to run by that point and I went out with no expectations - but I did it, and I was so chuffed.
Enjoy your break and come back refreshed and straining at the leash to get out there and run.
We have Lucifer here in Italy and he's just about to go back to Africa. But 45 degrees last week, so it may be similar for you. You could just keep your hand in by doing some of the shorter runs - no run is ever wasted, it builds up your stamina and km bank.
If you think you might want to run here's what's worked for me. But I must stress I started this programme Week 1 at 30 degrees plus so I am used to the heat a bit. First of all if you intend running scope your route by walking it first at the time intending to go. That way you know where the shade is. Second wet your vest and hair. Put conditioner on your hair to stop going all Catweasel like. That's a very old reference sorry. Half fill water bottle night before and leave in freezer, then top up with water in the morning it gives you something to hold that's cool and refreshing to drink too. Sunscreen. Generally it's better to run early in the mornings especially if you are near buildings as they tend to radiate the heat out in the evening and it's like running past radiators. Running near the sea shore is often nice, but some beaches are private and you can't always get access. Hence scope out your route before.
And if this all sounds a faff, then take the break, enjoy it and try one of the W5 runs when you return and if it feels comfy, continue. Enjoy your holiday regardless.
That's great advice - I am near the coast and think scoping it out and going well hydrated etc is maybe doable. Particularly like the catweasel ref - I know exactly what you mean - thanks!
