I've read a number of posts about using a foam roller. Would like advice please on what it is and where to get one. I've looked at amazon but am boggled by the range of rollers and range of prices. Thanks

There are different sizes and degrees of hardness, but you will be better to start with something softer to begin with. I did this and it does the job. As for use - it is advisable to do this in private as you will see from the link the exercises ar a little bizarre to watch runnersworld.com/foam-rolle...

Argos do them. That's where I got mine from.

If you don't need one then don't buy one. I wouldn't 😃 I used done during rehab following injury but not since. They need using wisely and carefully when required. They are not toys, and it worries me that folks use them without knowing what they are doing. Using rollers and sticks on inflamed tissue is asking for trouble I reckon 😩

I too am a roller 'virgin' and recently gave in and asked my son to buy me one for my birthday, which he did from TKMaxx. They also sell cheap ones in Decathlon. I used it for the first time last night, one thing's for sure - whatever other good it does, my arms are definitely going to get stronger!

My physio showed me exactly how to use it for shin splint, and what and where NOT to roll

I wouldn't use it indiscriminately
