Foam roller - How Much!?

These are often recommended so I was having a look and see that they range from around £8/9 to £40 and probably more. I'm not a lable junkie and I'm wondering what is the difference between any of these and, say a cardboard tube covered with a layer of foam that has cost nothing because they were both in my cupboard?

I have this... it works for me... exquisite torture...but afterwards... bliss!

And here we have Valerie Singleton making up a physiotherapist's suite next .... Sheps you are priceless, you do make me giggle. Please rest up that leg and get back to running soon....

Some of those I have seen are simply cardboard tubes covered in foam - where is the £40 value, I wonder. The one in oldfloss's link above is far more complex - I can see the value in that.

Can I show you the massage table made from a wallpapering table? Several old towels layered up provide ample padding. You have to be under 7 stone to use it without it collapsing so start dieting now.

Blimey well we could set up a joint venture dodgyphysioproducts.com.... Internet magnifies everything both good and bad. So take care and get some decent rollers.

I bought one from DW sports, £22 in the sale. On the way back popped into Aldi....... exactly the same ones, £8!!!!!!!!! First one went back!

Mine is more like this

Ps mine is a solid roller..... not cardboard😉

You can get shorter rollers similar to mine or wider, solid ones.

I was advised by a qualified group and personal trainer so might be worth getting good advice yourself, particularly how to use.

Thank you, Jacs. I'm sure there is more to them than I have been suggesting - but the difference in price is startling. I will look into them further and get something appropriate. Currently using a rolling pin (not true, I swear).
