Still waiting for Physio

Well hello again all. It's ages since I visited here, mainly because my plodding is still on hold 😢 due to my back issues not resolving. I'm still waiting for a Physio appointment it's 8 weeks since I received a letter telling me that there is a 6 week wait! After being advised by the Osteopath to try and avoid any triggers and after many weeks I actually felt some improvements. Great I thought so I gradually started doing more but I've gone backwards again ☹️. I do exercises I was given by the Osteopath but still no running - by the time I can I'll have to start all over again.

Anyway, small moan over and I hope everyone is well and enjoying their running.

Love Jane

Oh dear... it is so hard on that IC.... I did my first, proper, run yesterday after a long, on/off spell on the IC!

I saw a Physio at a Sports Clinic... had to pay but worth every penny!

Thanks for your reply. It is hard but I suppose I've just got to be patient as there is obviously something that needs addressing..

There is.. and honestly, although your comeback may seem hard.. you will get there...I had broken ribs last October... and a nearly six week spell on the IC... I was able to use my elliptical cross trainer ( no impact or resistance) to keep moving... could you do that at all ???

Unfortunately the problem isn't just impact - it seems to be bending, twisting and just being in certain positions.

Oh dear.... well.. I stayed upright.. and just pushed my legs.. ( they were very strong after the five weeks!

You know best for you though.. you will just have to do the exercises you have been given and plan some exciting routes...:)

Stay on here though.. always good to give support and to read the newbie posts...:)

The waiting time for NHS physio in my area is equally long. Am lucky enough to be able to afford to pay. Hope you get your appointment soon. Physios have been brilliant every time I have needed one so I am sure it will be worth the wait and they will get you back running again.

Not what you're looking for?
