Hi guys,

Just downloaded this as I've experienced ill health for 18months. Three operations later I'm feeling ready to loose this 3st I've gained in the mean time sat on my sofa with cocktails of prescribed antibiotics.

Any tips advice encouragement would be helpful. I used to be so into my exercise until my body rejected it.

Going to start the first challenge tomorrow scared and nervous but excited to see how I do ๐Ÿ™ˆ๐Ÿ˜‚

Firstly welcome. Secondly well done for making the decision to start.

Just take it slow and steady, don't set off too fast as you may regret it later in the run. Be patient with your progress by taking your rest days. There will be good runs, and bad runs, but enjoy them all and keep us updated on your progress

Good Luck for today,

Agree entirely and welcome to the best running club in the world. We are here to listen, encourage and help. If you're good to go today, then I hope you enjoy it. A great day is coming up - today you kicked the couch

Firstly, welcome and secondly... make sure you have the all clear, from your GP to begin this..( especially if you are on antibiotics) :)

If you have the, good to go.message...then it is simple:)

You follow the programme, you take your rest days and more in you need them. You listen to your body, which will protest.. often loudly! Take it, and this is most important) slow and steady... as slow as you like.

Extra strength and stamina exercise on rest days is really helpful... non-impact, like swimming, cycling, walking, yoga, whatever...:)

The whole ethos of C25K is to get us running towards three, 30 minute runs after nine weeks..( or however long it takes you)... and to stay injury free and having had fun!

Keep posting for excellent support and encouragement every step of the way!

First though, make sure you have the all-clear.. and then off you go... the journey begins :)

Slowly does it like a ๐ŸŒ is best. First run I set off like a mad hatter - so wrong. I was too bothered about what other people thought as they past me - even after my first week I don't notice them now. Just enjoy it. Good trainers or running shoes are a must. Loving it but exhausted. Should be on my second week but I am repeating the first week . Good luck and welcome๐Ÿ˜ฌ
