Life keeps getting in the way

So I finished Week 1 about 5 days ago now. And yet I haven't got out yet for Week 2. Life just seems to keep getting in the way. This is really annoying me. I really want to get going and get into a proper routine yet I don't seem to manage it. I think I should be able to go out tomorrow morning as long as it isn't raining too much. I'm in Scotland at the moment and while I don't mind a little bit of rain ... torrential is too much.

Any tips on putting running/exercise first and not letting life get in the way?

I struggle with this a bit too actually, I work different shifts every week so I never have the same day/time for my run. So far it's just been me telling myself I need to make time for it, and to stop making excuses. So I'll set my alarm a bit earlier and try squeeze it before work, or if I start work really early I'll make sure I get it in the evening.

If I really can't fit it in, that's okay i know I can make time for it, whether thats tomorrow or in 3 days time.

I think it's important not to be too rigid with it otherwise it takes the fun out of it. (Unless rigid works for you of course)

-also if you think you can do it tomorrow, just do it whatever the weather. I got stuck in a downpour the other day and actually really enjoyed it.

I Say just do it when you can, but make sure you do it!

Oh I know!🙄☹️

I was lumbered with a house full of kids and dogs last week, none of em mine. Still, I kept moving 😃

We can be martyrs at times and everyone else comes first. We need to be more single minded 😃

I think getting into a routine is critical. But you can make it flexible. For instance I run every other day, but if doing something specific I can let a day slip. I have read on here that some folk leave 2 or 3 days between runs, giving 'life' its opportunity within the rest time. Mummycav recently posted that she got up early and snuck out to do her run, when she hadn't expected to.

The good thing about the running is that you are improving your health and stamina, so each 30 minutes out helps you cope with the 'life' interruptions.

Don't fixate on a Week having to be a calendar week, if it means you can do the plan running every 3 days and it works for you then that's fab. I hope you find your running recipe. Good luck
