I had read lots about gait assessments on this forum and although I haven't been suffering any unexpected aches and pains, thought I should look into it. I went to a local sports shop in my lunch break and felt a bit ridiculous being filmed in my work skirt and some test trainers but hey ho, means to an end! So as I run slightly over my instep I bought some support trainers with a cushioned sole. I spotted some rather lovely purple and black leggings and a black tee shirt with sale tags on them so I treated myself since I am now officially a runner! I wore all my new kit for the first time this morning and what a difference. Bearing in mind I was previously wearing my old gardening shorts, an old T shirt (I've had for more than 15 yrs) and some unloved trainers I found in the back of the cupboard.
I usually run up and down the lane over the road from my house twice and since I've been running 25 mins I need to do about another half way along before Jo says I can slow down. This morning I got to the point where I thought I should be slowing down and silence. I wondered if Jo had abandoned me so checked my phone to find I had nearly 3 mins left to run. By this time I'd done the hill and the bit in find toughest on my run so I'm sure I skipped and jumped the last 2 mins,I was so pleased with myself! I did another half lane in the same time just because I had the right kit π
I'm home now, done my stretches and reluctant to take my lovely new black and purple leggings off since my legs feel longer because they are properly supported and my knees are nice and warm! π
