I'm new here. And finally done with week 2, after repeating week 1 twice for being scared of pushing my body too much. I have fibromyalgia that affects my joints so I can't exhaust myself, gotta be careful with not causing injuries, and must listen to bodily pain... blabla... but also, to overcome fear of a flare up! Getting better at recognising when I need rest and when I need to push myself a little bit more. I confess that has been the hardest. But I'm moving to week 3!!! Scared? yes!
week2 is done! finally...: I'm new here. And... - Couch to 5K
week2 is done! finally...
Scared but so brave too. Well done on getting to Week 3 - channel Oldfloss go slowly and steadily and you'll be fine.
Well done.
We all have to listen to our bodies, maybe you are more attuned than most. The programme is flexible and you are in control of pace and progress, so just take it steady.
I really look forward to hearing your progress, as a friend of mine has just been diagnosed with fibromyalgia and while I would hesitate to suggest to him that he starts running, you may prove that it is a viable option.
Good luck and please keep us posted.
Thanks for the encouragement. And I wouldn't recommend to take up running to someone recently diagnosed with fibromyalgia. I've been living with it for 10 years and still finding my way into how to manage it and learning about right dosis of exercise and rest. I started with swimming and other stretching exercises earlier on. Now the running is a new challenge I decided to take up. Uncharted territories, but so far enjoying it, specially because it takes me outdoors!
Very well done.. take it steady and slow and as you are doing..listen to your body!
You are being very sensible and you will do this
