Yesterday after completing WK 1 no issues before I went out to work. However as the day wore I became aware of soreness on my left heel (mild). Upon inspection i found a very thin layer of skin taken off. This was as result of wearing shoes I normally wear for work. I have another days rest today before I do my run tomorrow at about 1730. Advice please?

Blisters can cause all sorts of grief, if the skin has gone try a Compeed plaster over it other brands are available. Does the blister sit in the same place as your trainer too as this may not help. If it's tiny it's probably not a big deal if it's covered and not causing pain. If when you put your trainers on it rubs straightaway then rest until it's better. Earlier in the year I had 6 weeks pain, due to really bad blisters, I ended up walking on the side of my feet to compensate. And of course that caused more issues. I wouldn't wish that on anyone.

Try Vaseline, Compeed, bodyglide? I have dabbed E45 on my heel for my ordinary walking shoes, never had to use anything when wearing running shoes, think good running socks are a must..

I had the same problem , last week after a long walk in new shoes. I used a Savlon blister plaster, absolutely brilliant. The packet says leave it on six day, didn't believe that possible as you're lucky if plasters stay on six hour, but it stayed on and worked. 👍
