I have a blister on a blister

I have a blister on a blister right on/in my instep bet the ball of my foot. :( I think it's from putting my personally moulded inner soles into older trainers .

Peter just said I'd better not run on that. I replied "I did, today!"

I didn't feel it at the time (well, maybe a teeny bit) but can't wait for it to dry up.

Blisters are par for the course it would seem. I got one when I got my new shoes! OK now though. I put Vaseline over it before I ran again and it was ok

If it's painful there's not much you can do other than not run for a day or so. They usually heal up ok. I like Epsom Salts in the bath, or footbath, for wounds etc. Bath salts are the same thing but with colouring and perfume added. If it's not painful you could stick a plaster over it while you run

Good luck with it

Ouch! I hope that clears up soon. Good luck.

I wish I hadn't looked at that ! Hope it gets better soon.....very soon.

I have a blister--Im a REAL runner :D

It wasn't too bad today, but then i noticed it was a double whammy when I got home. I recall the only thing is allowing them to dry up and seem to remember someone telling me white spirit hardens the skin but not sure. I am hard (lately and for the time being) and no blister will stop me :D :D :D (till it hurts lol)

White spirit will harden the soles of your feet BUT it will also make them very dry. My dad recommended I used it 30 years ago when I started hiking for DofE, and I only used it for a few months - my feet are now so hard and dry that there is no natural moisture in them and if I don't use foot creams they look dreadful. Knowing what I know now, I wouldn't recommend it!!!!!!

Keep the blister clean and dry, cover it with a dressing rather than an ordinary plaster and take it steady! :)

ooh, thank you for that info Mamma_mia...i would rather not have hard, dry feet as underneath mine aren't that bad (other than blisters) as I try to keep them pumiced and moisturised....I don't think our feet get as much attention as they used to with less bathing and more showering so try my best.

I am determined NOT to pop it as I think that's when they really hurt, so will do as you say and keep it dressed when I'm running :) Thankyou x

Oh I had one of them from badminton and it just kept getting bigger. Get one of the blister plasters and leave it on.

Thankyou jaybee, I wear two akin socks so think it's the inner soles in the old trainers . Thing is, the old trainers stopped my knees hurting so that's better but obviously the inner soles were fitted into Nike shoes last year so must be a tad high in the right hand shoe. Good advice on that page though so thankyou :)

Ouch. Blister on your blister. Nobody can say you aren't working hard.

Poor old you! They do look familiar and resemble my feet when I was a few weeks into the program!

I used Compeed plasters which you can pick up from any chemist. I bought myself some of the double thickness running socks as well. Too actually combat the blisters all together I went and had gait analysis and got fitted for a proper pair of running shoes. I spent just over a hundred pounds but since then fingers x'd I have had no more blisters.

I know how painful these awful things are but Compeed up and you will be surprised how you don't really feel them.

Best of luck and no giving up now, you have got this far. Let us know how your next run goes x
