Oh well, I tried W4R1 yesterday...and it was a disaster....I could only run two minutes of the first run...then I did 2.5 mins of the second run...then my phone froze...when it decided to work again I managed the next 3 min run but I only did 3.5 mins of the last run...I tried podcasts, silence, my own music, I couldn't take my mind off how crap I was doing & wondering how long I had left on each run....I need a distraction!!!!! I even tried listening to a BBC podcast about insects taking over the world!!!! Then I walked up to the dog groomers with my little pup & decided that I would try & run home seeing as I thought I'd done so crap!!
well, I managed about half way...my runtastic app decided to stop too so I've no idea how far I actually ran but I was disappointed with myself...again...blooming week 4!!!!!! What is wrong with me?????? 😩😩😩

That's not a disaster. It's just a bad run. Put it behind you. Rest day. Do the next run and you will be fine. Don't let a little set back like this knock you off your stride.
Just a little blip..it happens.. you will be fine..So.. rest day today... then when you head out again... steady and slow...
Be kind to yourself and never ever think you are ...not good! You are out there and you are doing it...if the tech' goes wrong.. do as I do.. sing songs in your head, make up words to nursery rhymes. look round and give names .(.in your head) to anyone you see!
Anything to make you forget time and distance You can do this...
I have been looking out for your post Mummycav...as you said you were goint to try a Week 4 run having successfully done wk 3 over and over again...
So your phone signal is not reliable, the Nhs c25k podcast with Laura coaching you does not need signal, just battery... you download it to your phone and just follow the instructions...
Laura does give advice and chip in with encouragement so you shouldn't feel like you are running alone .
Can you turn around and run your route another way, so you are not passing a spot where you usually stop..can you try counting yous steps and get into a rhythmn 1,2,3,4 1,2,3 ,4
It will be great for you to get past this blip..
Don't be downhearted, rest up and give it another go...😊x
There are days like that, just chuck it in the f**k-it bucket and move on. Concentrating on the running itself is always courting disaster for me - I think about what I'm going to have for dinner, make plans for the future or simply aim for visual goals along the way (telegraph pole, then the car, then the tree...) and unashamedly pat myself on the back as I reach them. Don't be disheartened - look how far you've got since you did W1R1!
Okay as someone else who had a real crap one this morning, let's do together what we always say to each other. It was a practice run, for whatever reason it didn't come good today, but it will next time out. Big hugs and we will grit it out next time
