Hi I’m new to this and just completed my first run.
Any tips on stretches for after run?
Anyone also been doing this who have had knee troubles, does it help with the pain?

Well done for starting... that’s the hardest run, the first one!welcome to this site!! Im fairly new to it but you will get lots of good tips here. There’s lots of information on the site for newbies which gives advice on stretches etc... I am still not fully sure about what to look for where! Keep going, if I can do it then you can too!
Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started.
This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
I had knee problems several years before I started running and cured them enough to enable me to run by taking glucosamine and chondroitin daily.
Running will ultimately strengthen your knees but will also put them under a lot of stress, due to the impact, so to reduce that impact stay slow (see the guide for pacing) avoid heelstriking, keep footfall under your body not out in front, run on grass or treadmill and wear proper running shoes fitted after a gait analysis done at a specialist running shop.
Enjoy your journey
Welcome... great job on run one.
I had bad knees for 30 years. I was dumb on a rest day early in the plan and did some sprinting on sand, it set me back a couple of weeks and I ran in braces for a couple more weeks. Since then, for the first time in those 30 years my knees have been 100% pain free... I never had one day of that before. So, take it gently, stick to the plan and hopefully you’ll be the same soon... enjoy your journey.
