Nearly didn’t go tonight despite two rest days as had a pain down the side of my thigh today. Wasn’t due to running but trying to join in with a few minutes of my 5 yr old’s Joe Wicks session! Which actually is a lot harder than running! So decided to do some dynamic stretching before I went out which seemed to help.

Found the first run the hardest this evening but got a bit better on the second and third runs. Prepping myself for Run 3 by slowing down the speed of the runs but increasing my walking speed. My brisk walks slowed down last week to a not so brisk walk. Still nervous how I’m going to manage 8 mins running let alone 20 mins 😬. Find 5 mins hard enough!

Not actually lost any weight since starting this despite cutting down sugar intake and being more mindful with what I eat so need to change something there...

Yay, well done. I haven't lost any weight either, in fact when I weighed last week my weight had gone up a smidge BUT my body fat had gone down. I'm happy with that, the weight will come off in time.

You've got this, and we are all here to support you.

Well done for the run. Sometimes it’s best not to overthink things and trust that the program will get you there!

I agree totally with Jools2020, seriously trust the plan. I felt exactly the same as you last week, and like some sort of miracle I managed the 20mins!!! I had 2 rest days between each run though, as the extra running was showing 😂🙈. You're doing the right thing to go slowly, 🥰..!

Eeeeek we're nearly there 😁😁😁xxx

Well done! I was wondering how you were getting along. Definitely feeling a bit more achey today. Yes can’t believe halfway through now 😊. Thanks for the encouragement everyone!

It's never occurred to me to change the speed of the walks to work up to the long run, and I've done c25k 3 times! 😳 You are clearly the brains of the outfit 😁 I love the dynamic stretches, they've made a huge difference especially as the runs get longer. (Mind you, I know all about it if I forget the cool down stretches at the end - ouch!)

Don't worry too much about your weight, at this stage you'll find it's your body shape that starts to change. Muscle is replacing fat, and muscle is denser. Also nothing seems to happen in the earlier weeks, then one day you'll notice that your clothes look better on you. Just keep doing what you're doing. (And maybe an extra warm-up before you tackle Joe Wickes again!)😂

Haha I don’t know about that, I think I just realised that my recovery walks has got slower as the program has progressed. Yes I think will stick to the dynamic stretches from now on.

Thanks for the insight about weight, that’s great to know 😀. I think I’ll leave Joe Wicks for now!!

Don't blame you, I'm too old for that shenanigans, but I've seen the effect on my friends with small kids 😂

Well done!!! Also, thanks for saying about increasing your brisk walking speed and slowing down the running. I realised that my brisk walking for the last couple of runs really hasn’t been brisk at all!! Definitely need to address that too. I’m about to go on run 2 of week 5 so we are at the same stage. We can do this!!!!! 💪🏻

Thanks you. I think it’s a natural way to recover as the runs have got more demanding but won’t do us any favours for Run 3! Good luck with Run 2! Are you getting married soon?

It’s such a simple thing but thanks for bringing it to my attention, definitely going to be aware of it on my run today.

Actually, I got married in December, but I set up my account last year hoping to get super fit before the wedding and then didn’t get around to starting until this year 🤦🏼‍♀️

It’s so true what everyone’s telling you!

You got this - the plan has, without you even realising, been preparing you! (So clever)

Jools2020 said try not to overthink! Great advice..

I did just that with week 5... especially run 3 and I really did need to! It’s been one of my most comfortable runs of my journey so far...

you will do this and be so chuffed with yourself...

👏👏

Slow and steady 🏃🏽‍♀️🏃🏽‍♀️

I felt like that at the beginning of the week but this morning I did the 20 minutes! I don't remember a time I could do that.

The first 5 minutes were much worse than the remaining 15 minutes. Mainly as I was mentally thinking I couldn't do it.

But I did and so will you. Good luck. X
