W6R2 now that was hard 😞

So I have been plodding along nicely on the programme, following it to the letter. I haven't found it easy as I started with a BMI of 40 😞 so classed as obese and I have never ever ran. I have been very impressed with myself and I am very determined to do this. However this run this morning has dishearten me a little as it was so difficult! Has anyone else struggled with this run?

It has made me nervous for my next runs as this was the last interval run all the remaining ones are long runs

Peekey, I was where you are. I suspect many thousands more too πŸ™‚ Have faith in yourself and the programme to get you to Graduation

Going slowly is fine. No need to push or work harder than you need to. You only need complete each session

Plodding is good! Week six is a tough one. After that, well it's easier.

Think positive πŸ˜ƒβœ”οΈπŸ‘

Now, now, now! ... let's not get down hearted. Some runs are better than others but the important thing is that you got out there.

You are doing brilliantly to get to W6 just put today behind you and move on.

Trust in the programme, it's designed to challenge you but also prepares you. Keep it slow, slow, slow

Many have struggled with this run. W6 is probably the least popular week of the whole programme.

Be prepared for your next run, but don't fear it - it is just another step on the programme, no more or less than you have faced before. I loved W6R3, as I really felt like a runner for the first time - enough of all that stop/ start nonsense, time to go for a run - you've got this!!

I did this one yesterday evening. It was hard! I looked like a beetroot by the end! I agree, the next one seems daunting but it feels like we are in sight of graduation now.

I'm a run behind you and know how you feel. I have felt that every run has pushed me to my physical limit. Some runs I have struggled with and some I have finished and then run an extra 2km so I wouldn't feel disheartened as every day is so different. I love thinking back a few weeks to when I was struggling to jog for 60 seconds!

After week 6 you will be on the downhill stretch to the finish line. I much preferred running once I got to week 7. I did not miss the interval walking. Not saying that running without a break is easier, because it is not, however I find that once you run past 15 minutes you get into a stride. Just say to yourself before you start running, ''I'm going to do this, I can and will do this.'' Keep that mantra and you will do it. Best wishes to you and you have just 10 runs left until Graduation.

Thanks for everyone's replies and good advise. This morning I completed W6R3 and it felt great, much much better than R2!

Think this has just shown me that some days are just harder than others but just to keep plodding on!

Hope everyone else is getting on well with the plan

Xxx

I remember well that feeling when you realise there are no more intervals! But you've done the first run now and W7 is good for building your confidence - you've done the 25 minutes once now, you only have to manage it another three times. I started with a BMI of a smidge under 35 and I do think it makes it harder but my BMI is dropping gradually now, as is yours, I'm sure. Have faith in yourself and the programme - you'll do this.

Hi , hope you're getting on ok !

I'm about to start w9 and without doubt w6 was my toughest!

I found once I did one long run that was what I wanted to do , not back to interval!

Stick at it , you will do it πŸ‘
