Gave myself 4 excuses not to run this morning
1) been eating too much
2) been enjoying far too much wine
3) family coming over this afternoon
4) bed is the best option
But the sun was shining and I had a route down the canal towpath in mind so after a lot of faffing I got out there.
It was great. I felt good and went slower than I thought possible but I felt at the end that I could have gone on longer. I also had the very novel experience of running on gravel/mud which I really enjoyed.
I think I am finished with the treadmill for longer runs and I feel confident I’ll mange the 5k I’ve entered in 4 weeks time (but I think my son who is a tri-athlete and has agreed to escort me will be walking faster than I run 😂😂😂😂😂)
