So i just attempted w2r2 today in the rain. Got halfway through and i gave up. Physically i could have done it but mentally i could not. I did not enjoy it at all so came home. Will attempt it again on thursday and hopefully feel a bit more into it! Happy running people, try and try again until you succeed! We can do this!

I am still in week 1 (repeating days) and having a hard time. Trying to be proud of just trying each time so way to go for getting out there and half way is better than no way!

You too! You can do it! Your right there :) will give it a bash on thursday. We can do this!

Hey there don't be hard on yourself - last time you had a treadmill, no dreadful weather and a nice surface to boot. Today you didn't and it was harder more mentally than physically. That's the point here - the mental toughness can be just as important as the physical - but you should take the positive out of this - you gave up not physically - which means you are getting fitter and can do it.

This morning I ran like the wind as I thought my house was being burgled - not that I think you should imagine being burgled... that's not the point, but truthfully I ran faster than I thought was possible, because fear drove me harder. And it was really interesting for me, because I was running during my walk cool down period, but when I thought my home was at risk, I found a mental and physical strength I didn't know I had. You just need to work out what's your own positive trigger that makes you want to do it, even when it's a really crappy day.

For what it's worth I am using you as my virtual run buddy, when you post I give myself a kick up the butt and get out there. So please, please don't give up - this is emotional blackmail following on now!!!!... :) if you give up I may well do too, and you can't carry responsibility for me too. We started about the same time, so let's keep going and finish the program together.

Roll on Thursday - I am running then too and our weather forecast here is saying it will be mid thirties, so if you want to run on Thursday and have a laugh at the same time, imagine a puffed out small person, looking like a very red over-ripe tomato, with the local Italians looking at me aghast....

Good luck and keep the faith.

I thought of you today! I pushed myself out today and i managed it! Ive had low mood the past few days but after doing that run i feel amazing! Plus the run was so much easier! Less pain and easier! How did you get on?! :)

Hi well done. I did mine too not running tomorrow as temperatures hitting 100 degrees so taking an extra rest day and doing it Sunday.i promise it's not a wimp out! The temperatures are dropping Sunday by 5 degrees which will help me I think. I am so pleased you did the run and felt better. Such a good thing to have done you found the inner strength and that's a wonderful thing. Keep going girl ;)

Rain can be literally heaven-sent. it cools you down! Get yourself a run cap if you've not already, as you will need one at some point

Have fun. Good luck. Go nice and steady!!!!

I think you do get braver as you chew up more of the runs. You'll be quite gung-ho in a bit. Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeha

I do love running in the rain.. no jacket or waterproof! It just feels so relaxing! Whats a running cap? I will have a list of things i need to buy soon! Proper trainers, sports bra, proper sports clothes, not just a t shirt and tracksuit bottoms 🙈

The longer the runs the more in your mind the challenge is. Even though I've graduated after ten minutes the gremlins are telling me to stop! I just keep telling myself I can do this, I will do this! Giving up is not an option!!

Yeh i just need to get a better mind set. Yesterday is was far too easy to quit. I didnt even try and push myself. Motivation was 0!

Sorry to hear that you had a bad one. Its all a learning curve.

The first time I ran in the rain was a 25 run in week 7 and it was horrendous, a real deluge. I did keep going, and I'm glad I did.

But it seems to me the rain wasn't the reason you gave up. We all have an off-day. Chalk it up to experience and use that frustration as fuel for your next one - you've got this!!

I ran W1R2 in the rain & hated it, definitely decided I'm a fair weather runner, much happier with the sun on my back, not sure how I'll fair with the longer runs, finished W2 today!! Whoop whoop for us 🎉🎊😘
