I've just started C25k but am running on a treadmill. (mainly because i'm too embarrassed to go out and run yet) Has anyone else done this ? Any advice?

I suggest you ditch it as soon as you are able as the world is a beautiful place to explore,. I started going out in the dark (but then I did C 25k in the winter months), just use it to get your confidance up but then get outside, it's much better!!!!

I did the plan on the treadmill years ago but when I came to run outdoors I just couldn't do it - it was so difficult compared to treadmill. My advice is just go for it - at least you're out there getting fitter. It's lovely going out early morning when hardly anyone about and it's cooler :-)

I tried a treadmill run on a wet day and found that hard too so I think the running technique is so different that either could be hard, much prefer braving mud, wind, sun, rain and tree roots though

I ran in the treadmill on week one but ventured out thinking I would find a quiet bit of the day and hope no one noticed me. It was so much better outside, much more to see and fresh air too. No one even seemed to see me, it was great, just went out and did my thing. Graduated now and apart from some "well done", "morning" and a fluffy dog to stroke everyone has been disinterested which suits me fine. There are so many runners out and about, I wouldn't think they will notice one more. You can always listen to music as a distraction

Nope. No-one runs on treadmills here, zilch, nada, not one person. Uh huh, shakes head, negatory

Outside is lovely. Specially now, when it's not too hot. Put your toe in and try it. You'll love it

Sorry, but I did tell a fib there. Did you spot it?

I run both, treadmill and outdoors. In the holidays the treadmill is vital as I am a foster parent and can't leave the kids at home. When at school I run out side. In the winter I plan to do both as the weather allows as I have scleraderma with extreme raynaulds so there are days I can not feels my hands and feet. Either is ok. It's does get boring on the treadmill but I do run faster and get a lot sweater literally dripping, out side is great early morning or evening when it's nice a calm. It does not matter what you do as long as you do something!
