I know we in UK are bleating on about the weather but it's 8pm. I am waiting for it to cool down so that I can do for W7/R1. Am I just making excuses.

I'm a single mum so alas don't have much choice about when I run, although have tried (& failed) to avoid the worst of the midday-ish heat. I think you just need to set yourself a time window & go for it, else you might lose your mojo! But that's just my opinion. Everyone's different of course. And yes, it is still bloomin' hot.

Def lost mojo and momentum. Tomorrow suppose to be cooler. Might go later tonight

I went this morning but not til about 10am, which is the earliest I can do & that's pushing my littlest one in her jogger buggy. It was hard work today although there was a slight breeze in parts thankfully.

Are you able to adjust your route to stick to more shady bits or catch some breeze?

Surely pushing buggy is double kudos!

If it's safe to run at this time of night where you live, go for it! Your mojo is out there in the park - go and look for it there. I had to run during the day today and it was fine - I drank lots of water before I went and took it really slowly. I was so chuffed ( and puffed) when I finished it . And we started this thing around the same time and we need to get over the finish line together too! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

Thank you CC26. You are right I went and am just back. Did a different route which was odd. I didn't run all 25 mins probably walked for 2 mins in total but am counting as completed. Learned something new. Go for a wee before you go out. 😛

I know - I keep reading that you should be really hydrated before you run but it has its drawbacks if you ask me! I'm glad you found your mojo though 😊

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but it's cool in the early morning! It takes around 6 hours for it to cool down after the daytime sun 😳

Hi,

I have also found it quite a challenge trying to schedule a run in this heat. I ended up going for a run (w8,r2) in my local woods at 11am this morning! This was a little less uncomfortable than w8,r1 running in my local park on tarmac.

Have you heard of the ice towel not sure if any good, it's meant to keep you cool and is good for runners. I've ordered one i'll have to see how it goes.

Not what you're looking for?
