Sore knees

I'm not sure if it's my trainers, my weight, or a combination of both but my knees ache after a run and when walking up and down stairs for a couple of days afterwards. There's no visible swelling but I'm worried the longer I run the worse it'll get and it may stop me from running altogether. Has anyone had this themselves?

I had this around week 4/5 I found an extra rest day between runs helped. I also picked up a cheap foam roller from aldi - I've found that using on rest days on my quads and calfs has really helped ease my knee niggles. You just have to be prepared to get into some funny positions! Hope the pain eases soon Xx

I really suffered with my knees and was putting it down to work related. But after reading other people's post on gait analysis I went to a good sports shop and purchased some new trainers. It was clear to see how bad my old Nikes were when you watched me running on film. I tried several pairs on but it straightened my legs up and changed the stress I was placing on my knees. I now don't have any pain at all and am running for a lot longer.

Thanks for the advice. Was thinking of doing the gait analysis. They put you on film?? Watching that may make me give running up for life lol. How long do you have to run for? Do they charge for the analysis?

For several seconds and most do it free

if you are new to running, or exercise in general, you can expect to feel it.

Just do the jog bits very slowly. You build your legs as you go and on your non-run days
