Hello,
Yesterday I did week 2 run 2 and today both my knees are really sore and my whole body is stiff! Is this normal? Should I run tomorrow or wait until the aches go? 🤷🏻♀️
Hello,

Give yourself a few extra days off running until the knee aches go then continue with run 3 of week 2
Are you running on grass or pavement? I started off on pavement but it killed my knees, so now run in a grass park. Also, have you got proper running shoes? That will also help.
Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started?
This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5... and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run which will help. Knee strengthening exercises will also make a huge difference nhs.uk/live-well/exercise/k...
Don't try to run through pain.
Enjoy your journey.
Hi there, I’ve had terrible knee problems in the first 4 weeks and although it was mainly to do with tight thigh muscles, it was also the way my foot falls on the floor. I was wearing Skechers too and although soo lovely and comfy, they are not supportive for your foot if it doesn’t land perfectly flat (mine slightly rolls inwards as I land which is called over pronation)
I highly recommend a good pair of supportive running trainers , you can have assessments in running shops for these and they will look at your gait.
Good luck with your running and rest your knees!
I had sore knees too. I used those special knee support bandages that you get from chemists but after buying proper running shoes I didn’t need them. Recommend going to a proper running shop where they analyse your gait and recommend the right shoes for you. I wear any old thing but a good pair of running shoes are the one thing that’s really necessary
Hi. I got such sore knees at exactly the same point as you. I took ibuprofen, and didn't run for 2 weeks until they felt completely better. I'm now on week 4 but running slower than before and have no knee issues and I'm starting to enjoy running. You will know when it feels right to run again. If it doesn't feel right, don't do it. It will only put you off. Good luck. X
Thanks - do you run on grass or pavement? There’s limited grass around where I live.
Also, did you restart from the beginning or carry on from where you left off? X
I run on pavements as I find grass is a little unstable as a surface for me and I worry about going over on an ankle. I restarted exactly where I left off and that seemed fine. After the first week "off" I tried to make sure I did some walking to keep me going as even though it hurt my knees it's not class as high impact. I think that helped to keep me motivated. Xxxx
