Wait till you get to week 9 lol..;) Rest, anti inflammatory medication, ice, stretching.

This morning my knees are fine! I guess it can't be anything serious. I have new very comfy Brooke's trainers so I don't think it's that, I'm going to stick to the program, thanks for your reply

Joan's sorry to hear about your knee. Have they troubled you on previous weeks?

If not go back a week and do more through stretching etc . Also check the quality of your trainers.

Consider swimming and even use the c25k app to power walk?

If you are not sure how much to do, FitnessBlender on Youtube offer some good all over body stretching exercises...

I just need to be more disciplined in doing them....

second this one, I had knee problems in week 2 & after 3 months of physio & ice i'm finally ready to get back to it but it will be by using the c25k program to power walk rather than run to get my body used to a bit of exercise

Have you got proper running shoes? Lots of people start the programme in old trainers, I did the same thing, but they are not really up to running. If your shoes are ok, then as SillyLilly says, rest, ice, Ibuprofen. xx

Shoes were the first thing on my list quickly followed by sports bra and now iPod. Knees are fine today must be the shock of all this activity, haven't done any running since my 20s and I'm now closer to 60 👍

That's good, sometimes aches and pains come and go, my knees used to hurt for the first 5 or 10 minutes, but that's gone now. Only you can know if it's a niggle or something more serious, and rest accordingly. Good luck and enjoy the programme!

My knees got very painful at week 4 - I think because of the big increase in running from the previous three weeks - so I went back and started again, but repeated each of the first three weeks, then did 'week three plus', carrying on running past the end of each run interval for a bit, then 'week four minus' when I stopped running a bit early in each interval. Taking it gradually like this, they've been fine. I got as far as week 8, over about 17 weeks, then holidays etc got in the way but I didn't have sore knees at all!
