Was down one running partner this morning as my 10 year old is down with a horrid throat bug. After pondering I figured that forcing him off his sickbed to accompany me on a run would probably be a bad mum thing to do. But then my 7 year old decided she was 'far too tired' for a run. So bribed her with the word 'scooter', amazing how she went from 'far too tired' to 'frenetically energised' in microseconds. Was dreading the 90 second runs but actually found them enjoyable (never ever thought I would say that), and even picked up pace in the last couple (though probably won't do that again as am in fear of an old Achilles injury. Having scooter meant I didn't even have to listen to whining during the walking sessions. An all round win. Just need to get my 10 year old well for Monday's run now

What a shame your 10 year old was feeling poorly. I've been trying to convince my 13 year old to join me, but no luck yet! I saw a friend out running with her little girl on her bike just this morning and thought what a brilliant idea it was. And such a great role model to be too x
Poor thing. I am sure he will be feeling better soon. If it is any comfort my 13 year old also refuses pointblank to come with me. He takes one look at me in my (modest) running gear and I can see his thoughts!! 😂
Bike is also a good idea - though I think I need to get further through the programme first as I would have no hope of keeping up at the moment. But scooter worked really well
Thanks for reply
I love having my 9 yr old little running buddy with me. Only problem is that she runs faster than me but walks slower! She's just started taking part in kids' duathlons so sees it as her training too but does moan that mummy runs too slowly 😂. Off for w5r2 shortly.....
