Gave up on last run

Sooo disappointed in myself. Did last run of week 4 this morning (after a week off due to life getting in the way) and had to give up 2 mins before the end. Knee just gave way. No reason just went. Anyway managed to walk it off and it's a little sore but so disappointed in myself

Don't be so hard on yourself - you did most of the run. Rest your knee tomorrow and see how it feels before you carry on.

Noooooo, noooooo, please don't be disappointed with yourself! Your knee, maybe... but that wasn't something you could just ignore by the sound of it and you may have done yourself some serious mischief if you'd pushed it.

Fingers crossed a bit of a rest will do the trick and you can take things really gently and crack W4R3 on the next outing.

Be kind to yourself! We ignore our knees at our peril, so you did okay!

Rest up and head out again:) Slow and steady...:) You will do this:)

You did an eighteen minute run and you didn't give up. You should be proud and you know when your knee feels good again you can pick up from where you left off

I know how you feel - it's really frustrating when you're mentally ready for exercise but your body lets you down. It's very tempting to ignore an injury as long as you can but sometimes rest is the only way forward. It's just a setback I'm sure. Hope you feel better soon

Would you have been prouder of yourself if you had muscled throught the pain and knackered your knee so you had to take a week or two off to recover?

Learning to run is about more than ... learning to run. Its about understanding the mental game, learning tolisten to our bodies, learning how to fuel and water ourselves, knowing when to ease of and learning how to deal with injury.

Don't worry Cazza73 it happens, some runs are better than others. You done it minus a couple of mins, be proud and I'm sure you'll smash it the next time! :-)
